Ageas Optima Driving Tuition scheme — appetite & decline criteria

Overview: comprehensive cover, 12-month policies only. Minimum 5 tuition hours per week. Main instructor age 21–70. Licence: ADI, or PDI (minimum Part 2 qualified). Occupation must be driving instruction as the main occupation. Residency: continuously UK resident for 3+ years. Excess £100 for accidental/malicious damage; no fire & theft or young-driver excess.

Decline outright: proposer/main instructor under 21 or over 70; 2 or more CCJs in the last 60 months, or any single CCJ over £1,000; instructor not at least Part 2 qualified (no PDI badge or Part 2 pass certificate on file); once no longer Part 2-eligible (after 6 months, or after 2 years) the policy must be cancelled; second occupation of taxi driver, fast food delivery, or similar; non-motoring convictions (per the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act); currently disqualified without a valid licence; previous declinature, cancellation, or renewal refusal by a previous insurer.

Vehicle rules: max value £25,000, max 9 seats, right-hand drive only (left-hand drive not accepted). ABI groups 1–33 only, and only ABI-file-listed vehicles are acceptable — hot hatches are unacceptable and will be system-declined. Max vehicle age 30 years. Only dual controls, standard equipment, alloy wheels, and disability adaptations are acceptable modifications.

NCB: as per SSP, up to 9 years. Must be under 2 years old and not in use on another vehicle. Mirrored NCD is available where the Optima Tuition NCD shown is 0 years, from a private car or commercial vehicle, subject to 3 years claim/incident-free — quote reference "M" applies. Matched/enhanced NCD is available at 1–8 years under the same conditions.

Discounts: 5% broker tenure discount (1+ year with us, no fault claims — code TEN5). Renewal capping 10% where claim-free (code R).
