Admiral Minifleet — appetite: vehicles

Vehicle count: 3–25 vehicles.

Vehicle type: cars, vans, commercial vehicles under 7.5T, special types (TPO cover, excluding third-party working risks).

Trackers: required above £75k value; refer above £90k.

Director-owned vehicles: maximum 2 vehicles, or 25% of the fleet by vehicle count, whichever is greater.

Trailers: excluded for the pilot.

Special types: TPO allowed, excluding third-party working risks (road use only — limited to RTA, excludes site use).

Special types — acceptable: cherry picker, fork lift truck, mini digger, mini excavator, mini dumper, small plant, ride-on mower, road sweeper, telehandler.

Special types — decline: agricultural vehicle, crane, dumper truck, digger, excavator, large plant, tar sprayer, tractor, volumetric batching units, other modified vehicles (cranes, Hiabs, conversions, etc.) — excluded for the pilot.

Excluded vehicles: minibuses over 9 seats (including driver), commercial vehicles over 7.5T, motorcycles/scooters.

Admiral Minifleet — appetite: drivers

Driver age: 21 minimum; refer any driver outside this.

Driving exclusions: exclude under-21s unless prestige vehicles, where all drivers under 25 are declared and considered ad-hoc, including under-21s.

Driving licence held (for the category of vehicle being driven): 1 year or more; refer any driver outside this.

Driving restrictions on prestige vehicles: exclude under-25s with fewer than 2 years held, or under-30s with fewer than 3 years held.

Driving convictions: maximum 6 points. Exclude or refer for: accident offences (AC codes), driving whilst disqualified (BA codes), causing death by careless driving (CD codes), reckless/dangerous driving (DD codes), drink driving (DR codes), drug driving (DG codes), insurance offences (IN codes), licence offences (LC30–50 codes), totting up (TT codes — 12+ points within 3 years), theft or unauthorised taking (UT codes), mutual recognition (MR codes), miscellaneous offences (MS50–90 codes) — DVLA codes, or NI/EU equivalent if not DVLA-issued.

Driving licence issued by: UK, NI, or EU only; refer any driver outside this.

Criminal convictions: exclude. Refer any driver outside the criteria above.

Admiral Minifleet — appetite: proposer / policyholder

Trading entity: limited company, sole trader, or partnership.

Years trading: 1+ years.

Claims experience: fleet-rated only. New ventures excluded. NCD/NCB conversions excluded — minimum 1 year of fleet-rated claims experience required.

Occupation: trades/professionals are the target appetite.

Excluded trades: animal testing, armed forces, driving instructors/driving schools, emergency services, embassy and diplomats, entertainment industries (acting, film studio/production, musicians/bands, party planners, professional sports persons or entertainers, theatre/theatrical, pubs, nightclubs, fairgrounds), gambling industries (gaming, bookmakers, casinos, bingo halls), motor trade (breakdown recovery, car valet, car or caravan delivery, motor racing, petrol stations, tyre distribution and fitters, motor factor, car accessory dealer), salvage agents/scrap metal merchants, security companies (manned guarding, key holding and/or emergency call-outs, bailiffs, cash collection), waste/recycling (including skip hire).

Distribution: broker only, subject to TOBA. Broker commission: as per TOBA.

Excess: £250 minimum, reflecting prior years'.

Additional excess — young & new drivers: age 17–20, additional £250.

Additional excess: age 21–24, additional £150.

Additional excess: held a full valid licence less than 12 months, additional £150.

Windscreen excess — replacement: £115 minimum, following the previous insurer.

Windscreen excess — repair: £25.

Foreign use: included up to 60 days. Social, domestic & pleasure (SD&P) and business use covered; hire/reward not available.
