## AXA Driving Tuition scheme — appetite & decline criteria

Overview: comprehensive cover only, annual policies only. Minimum 10
tuition hours per week. Instructor age 25–71 (17–24 and 72+ decline).
Licence: full UK, held 24+ months, fully qualified instructor, or a
PDI with a confirmed Part 3 test date. Vehicle value up to £40,000,
vehicle age 0–15 years, annual mileage up to 35,000. Rating areas 1–15
acceptable (16+ decline).

Decline outright: instructor aged 17–24 or 72+; vehicle over 15 years
old or over £40,000; annual mileage over 35,000; rating area 16+,
house boats, or sited/unsited park homes; any "lost control" incident
in the last 3 years, or 2+ fault claims in 3 years; any driving ban, or
any non-motoring conviction; convictions other than SP, PC, or TS;
continuous UK driving experience under 24 months; not a permanent UK
resident for 36+ months; previous policy voided, or cancelled by an
insurer for any reason other than a single instalment default; licence
type other than full UK 24-month+ instructor or confirmed-date PDI;
any use other than tuition/test (SDP over 25) or commuting to a second
job; left-hand drive, Q-plated, or not-yet-UK-registered vehicles; any
vehicle modification beyond dual controls, alloy wheels, or minor
interior changes; any occupation other than qualified driving
instructor unless found acceptable on the Appendix 1 occupation list —
the vast majority of secondary occupations on that list (taxi/private
hire, courier, construction, motor trade, education/school employees,
armed forces, journalists, market traders, unemployed, and similar)
are decline.

Vehicles — always decline: ABI group 26+, all sports/performance/exotic
cars, all Lexus, all 4x4s, all imports, all vans, Mercedes (except
non-performance A-Class), Audi (except non-performance A1), BMW
(except non-performance 1 Series), vehicles with more than 5 seats, all
Jaguar, all Land Rover, all Tesla, most electric SUVs (smaller models
like the Corsa-e — refer instead), and Chinese-make EVs (Omoda, BYD,
etc.).

NCB: acceptable types are previous earned UK driving-school tuition
NCD, UK car tuition NCD, or fleet car tuition NCD, provided
fault-claim-free. Any other type of car NCD must be referred.

Audit & validation: pre-sale, a CUE claims check and Experian
(Green/Amber acceptable). Post-sale, proof of NCD, Share My Licence,
CDL front and back, ADI badge, PDI proof, and proof of DSA grade.
Validation period is 21 days, with a chaser at 14 days and a 7-day RTA
letter on day 21 if outstanding.
